MPC Live boots to Update Mode

Geez! I’m on vacation in the mountains of Tennessee and when I turn my mpc live on, it goes into update mode. Are there any button combination I can press to escape this option? I have not tried to update at all and it has the latest 2.8. I spent hours looking for a fix. All I have access to is a laptop and a compact flash card. Thanks for any tips.

Might be worth trying to flash it with 2.8.1... but you'll need the computer or a USB drive to do it.

You could try: Powering the machine off, remove all the drive/devices from USB, SD Card and disconnect the internal SATA drive. Plug in your power adapter and power the machine on. See if it cycles without going into update mode.

I haven't found any diagnostic mode key combination or service manual for these units. It's almost like they don't want us to repair them.

Sorry for the necro-reply but have you checked to see if you still have the update file on your SD Card/USB/internal HD? If so, each time you boot it up it’ll try updating. At least that’s the way my previous MPC X that had issues did.

I think he got lost in the Tennessee mountains.
