Thank you man!
I'm one of those people that had an X and downgraded to a Live - just because I wanted to be more portable, which I ended up not being anyway. LOL
Every single one of those songs I started on the Live, and after laying about 20% of it (mostly drums and basic melodic ideas) I exported stems to Logic Pro X, where I finish everything else. I mixed the album myself in my studio. It's funny man, I appreciate you (and others have said) that it sounds good, but you know how it is... I hear things in the songs that make me cringe like "wtf were you thinking???. LOL
I used to send my stuff out to mixing engineers, but realized I spend more time bickering about the sound I wanted. And then I realized that I could get the same results as them. Not pretentious enough to think I'm better at it than they are, so wouldn't say I can get BETTER results than them, but when it came to my music, I could get the same results. Which for me, meant they get cut, and that $ stays with me for promotion and marketing. In the end that's been a smart approach for me, because it doesn't matter how good a song sounds if no one hears it. haha.
But I'm using the MPC less and less these days. Just can't produce a song in it. Just make some basic backing tracks and do real work in a DAW. That's true for MY music - others may have a different experience. My music is a mixture of samples and live instrumentation. And I mix with UAD and Waves 90%.
