hi, i load a drum loop to a pad, then when i go to edit sample --> trim and chop mode turn the pads to unknown colors and behaviors.

this behavior is the same no matter what sample i load.

in trim mode, all the 16 pads have colors, red, green yellow.

when i press chop mode, only 3 pads have colors, pad 1, pad 12 and pad 13.
this is ALWAYS the case and is default as soon as i press chop without having done anything.

it makes NO sense.

anyone know what the heck is going on?

here is what i am seeing.

This is much more obvious when using the unit in Controller mode: You‘ll see the description what the pads do in the software, no need to check the manual.

Please don't take offence but a simple glance at the manual could have solved your issue. These mpcs are so full of options I even printed a hard copy of the manual for easy reference.

Maybe it's my age, but in the last decade or so I keep getting more and more surprised when things are immediately obvious. User interface design is as much art as it is science, and we all have such diverse backgrounds for how we think things should work. The boundary between user interface and user expectation is often blurry at best. :D

Glad you short it out :)

That happens to my MPC Live from time to time...

You are lucky, for me it happens ALL the time (MPC One)
