MPC ONE sequencing TR-08/09

Hi all, I'm sorry if this is an obvious issue, but I've done what searching I could think of, and attempted several things on the hardware and in the software regarding pad mapping.

I'm trying to assign each pad to a single drum sound on the TR-08 (and 09), but I can't seem to get it to allow me to map properly. The default seems to be either the sounds being randomly assigned to several pads throughout the keyroll, or that two sounds are assigned to the same pad. Ideally, I'd be able to assign the kick to pad 1, clap to pad 2, snare to pad 3, etc.

Any tips or links to tutorials would be very much appreciated!

This is supposed to be possible via midi mapping but at the moment there is a bug in this feature and it doesn't save the set midi note on the selected pad.

Assigning two sounds to the same pad will not be possible in any case I think, unless you connect both sounds to a seperate pad and then use the simult function. Not 100% sure if that will work with midi though.

I can highly recommend using and learning the sequencers of both drum machine's themselves as they are a lot of fun and have a lot of possibilities. Just sync them up.

Thanks for the heads up on the bug! I was able to figure out how it SHOULD work with mapping, but as you say it doesn't save the changes I make. Is it a bug in the MPC software or with the latest update for the hardware?

I'm not trying to assign multiple sounds to a pad. It is doing that on its own. For example, Pad one will trigger both C1 and C#1 (kick and rim shot). Hopefully the bug is fixed at some point.

I agree, the sequencers on both drum machines are fun. I think I'm just trying to keep things a streamlined as possible, and wanted to try using the MPC sequencer as the sequencer it's supposed to be by sequencing outboard gear, too. I have no problem with using it to sequence synths. It's just the mapping I suppose.

Drums usually have std mapping. (on 99% of midi gear)
