I've got an MPC Live 2 (not the Retro Edition, but the first run 2's that came out in early/mid 2020). I tend to charge to 100% and then unplug it immediately, as I don't want it sitting on constant power at a constant 100% charge (not good for lithium ion batteries at all), and prefer to occasionally discharge my battery. Anyway, once I charge to 100%, if I don't get a chance to work for a week or so, I find that it discharges at a rate around 1% to 2%
a week. I've never let mine go for a month unused, so I can't really comment on that sort of time frame. But if you charged to 100% and it dropped to 96% overnight, it might be just the condition of the battery - they're always going to be a bit of +/- in accuracy with that meter. I'd try and leave it on for a good 6-8 hours and discharge the battery completely, and then charge it back up to 100%, discharge again to 0%, and charge it back up to see if it "conditions" the battery. Even if you still find it discharging 3-4% overnight, Akai may feel that's normal.
After you discharge to 0% a couple of times, if you charge to 100% and let it sit 1 week untouched, when you power up you should still have 96% at least. If you don't, then you might want to reach out to Akai and see if you can get it serviced.
