"Looking for Computer" with new Macbook Pro M1

I'm trying Controller Mode for the first time, had my MPC for about a week now. I'm doing this with a new Macbook Pro M1. But I also have the SAME problem trying it on my Intel Mac as well, so I'm not sure it's even computer related.

"Looking for Computer" is the screen that just wont go away when entering controller mode. Drives that are on my MPC "Do" show up on the desktop during this time.

My MPC Live is updated with all the latest firmware -- 2.9.0 (at the time of this post)

MPC Software has been installed and Driver has been installed, I've reinstalled twice.

I've also tried a different USB cables along with multiple USB plugs just in case. I'm totally stumped. Is there anything else I can try?

yeh can confirm and never even tried the controller mode yet because of this issue, not that I need it, but still would be nice to see it working.
Im using M1 chip as well. You can mount the hard drive at least and update. Speaking of which you say 2.9.0 when its actually at 2.9.1 but does not make any difference here. Wont be seen by the MPC Software at all.
I think it is more software issue and not fault of the cable or anything.

Yeah you could be right. I've also tried to download the MPC Beats software but they never sent me the download link via email. I've tried twice. Would really like to get this working. Spent 2 hours on trying different things with no success. Thanks for the reply.

So if you have Big Sur running then you do not qualify for support.

Yes, Big Sur not supported, they've been working on this for a while now but no hints when it will be sorted, frustrating as many of us want to get a new Mac. But even if Big Sur supported, M1 may have separate issues. I'm not hopeful regarding a native M1 version, so we'll probably have to rely on Rosetta 2 for compatibility, but apparently Apple will be looking to drop Rosetta 2 quite quickly.

Big Sur for the most part is good to go on Intel. The only thing that doesn't work anymore is the Network MIDI app (it worked up until 11.2).
Controller Mode, that's a hardware driver so even if everything else works in Rosetta, that has to be written FOR the M1 natively.
