Clearing track (notes/automation) without stopping playback

Hi there!

A quick question that I don't seem to be able to figure out:
How do I proceed if I want to erase all events in a track, but keep the track settings?
The Clear-function in the track menu erases name/MIDI channel, etc, while the hitting the erase button in order to get into the erase menu where I can select what I want to erase requires stopping playback.
But say, I'm recording a melody, but recorded it sloppy or just want to erase it later on during a performance, while keeping that exact track instrument/program/preset/name so I can re-record a new version right on.
How do I do this?

Highlight the Active Track and Click the Erase button. From there you can erase different options. Notes, automation, etc

There's exactly my problem: The erase menu doesn't open while it is playing.
Any workaround? Actually being able to open up the erase menu would solve my problem entirely.
Is that only on my unit or is that in general?

But that still leaves me with a (copied) track that contains notes and automations. That's what I need to be able to erase during a performance.

The manual never stated the erase menu can open while the sequencer is playing. This is normal then right? You are wanting something it can't do.

Apparently we can. But only from the Sequence Edit menu, not via the erase button. A shift+erase shortcut should be easily doable.

From the main page Sequence section tap the pencil icon, tap erase, choose "note" press do it. It erases whatever you set it to erase while sequence is running and only takes as long as it takes you to move your fingers.

Seems illogical that the erase button doesn't work in the same fashion. Its one press vs 2 and only one if you are already on the main page. Cant blame anyone for expecting the same behavior from the pencil icon.

If you're in the grid, you could just use the select tool to grab the notes you want to delete and then 'shift-cut' to remove them?
