Layering Pads

I just bought the MPC One and I can’t figure out how to play the same pad over itself in succession. My 2000xl, you just went to Poly but this one Poly still restarts the sample when you press the pad instead of playing itself on top of the current sound. If anyone knows the truth, I’d appreciate the help.

PROGRAM EDIT > LFO MODULATION > PAD POLYPHONY > Poly (or preferred polyphony, i.e. 4 etc).

All MPC DRUM programs now have this set to Mono by default, which I personally dislike as it mostly sounds unnatural.

The other POLY setting in PROGRAM EDIT > MASTER (which I assume is the one you were changing) controls the polyphony for the entire program (e.g. set to mono for a monophonic bass program, or for chops that cancel each other out).
