I'm new to the MPC One. As I explore the plug-in synths, i notice that they all have tons of delay and reverb enabled by default, which annoying to me. Rather than quickly auditioning the sounds, i have to go in and edit the delay & reverb parameters.
Is this normal? Is there a way to globally configure the programs to have less delay & reverb?

Thanks!

No, since delay/reverb settings are saved with the synth.

The good news is you can create your own presets from scratch.

I find the defaults for most synths are heavy reverb/delay.
The crazy fun is in the LFO  oscillator shaping & envelopes
Time to turn some knobs ;-)

agreed. I actually picked my synths based on how much I like the experience.

Some synths sound great but aren’t fun to tweak b/c too many menus, etc. this is why I never use the built-in MPC synths. I may start using that 2.9 drum synth 1 day but I’m running an older OS for now . . . . . . .

That is most gear, just to make it sound good right out the box.
Create your own templates.

The plugin synths suck!
Look for AKWF single cycle waveforms and use them in a keygroup with the really cool filters you have got there. That´s a better experience than disabling the fx from that awful synthpatches.

Actually yes - plenty of people do. I won't buy a synth unless it comes with a decent amount of factory presets, and I am able to save presets. I don't have time to sound design - that's why I pay for people to do it for me. I'm a preset tweaker, as are a lot of people.

:WTF:

This. If you're not able to get any mileage out of the included plugin synths, then you're doing something wrong. I do agree they all seem to be too buried in reverb and delay. Hype on Force is the same.

Same. I tweak presets, I create my own AND I want the ability to save/reload patches. It's part of the reasons I went with 37 instead of Grandmother or Matriarch.

I haven't used them in a while, but from what I remember, I agree with presets being drowned in verb & delay. I hate that devs do that, but they ALL seem to do it.

I'm also a preset tweaker and the 1st thing I do is turn off verbs & delays.
