MPC X and Tascam Model 12

I have an MPC X 2.10 and just purchased a Tascam Model 12 after watching the promo video. I have connected using USB but the Tascam is NOT showing up as a device under Audio. Only option is INTERNAL.

Did you use the USB cable that comes with the Tascam?

No. I purchased a used one on Reverb and it did not come with its own USB cable. I'm using a USB C to USB B connector and plugging into the B port on the Akai

I did a search and discovered you cannot use the USB B port.

You connect the Tascam usb c to the MPC usb A port
