Im pretty new to the mpc world so bear with me. I have a mpc live 2 and a novation mk2 controller plugged in to it via midi cable. It's working of course, but the keys are playing content from multiple tracks and programs simultaneously (drums, plugin synths, etc). So i click on the channel strip midi input thing to isolate a specific track and set midi input to "none" on tracks i dont want playback on, but it all still plays simultaneously! What gives?

Go to the SEQUENCE (three white bars) screen where it shows all the diff track rows, and look for the buttons that say in, auto, merge, or off. set them to "auto". that will insure your device plays them individually when they are selected.

if them set to "merge" that will do exactly what you're saying they will do.

also flip the midi controller to "all" instead of the specific device you're using. its not required to tell each track what midi device to use. thats only if you want to isolate a different controller to each program or one controller to multiple programs in unison.
