I've bumped into this problem this morning, using the MPC Live to pilot the different "parts" (like 5 independent instruments) on a Jupiter Xm.

Being able to transpose all instruments in one move with one encoder is great... until one of those instruments is percussions :-/ . Part 5 on the Jupiter is emulating an 808, that of course must not be transposed.

Is there a way to exclude one track from transposing together with the sequence? Alternatively, shall we ask for a feature where the "transpose" setting of a track has not just an "off" option, but also a "disabled" one? Or, even a "lock" option for the entire track, that ignores tempo changes or whatever?

Thanks!

G.

if you go to the "project" screen click the little house and click "hide" in the top left. Once you do that you'll see transpose as an option in the track lane. Near where it says length and velocity you will find transpose that will be islated to that track and that segment.

Hi - you are absolutely right - it does not work!

The only way (...to my understanding, but willing to lear) is to "Bounce to Audio Track" - the little pen of the PlugIn program.
This creates a WAV file.
Works well.... but maybe not what you are looking for.

Edit: You may wish a "disable" option - good idea, but honestly it will not be heard.....

take the notes from your midi track and put them on another track with a drum program that sends to the blank midi track sending midi to your roland. sequence transpose wont transpose a drum program.

neat tip: sequence drums you want to transpose (toms for example) on the midi track, and sequence the other drums on the drum program sending to the midi track.

yes, yes, yes - but it does not count for the drum synth - or I have a wrong setting :hmmm:
