Ambient music Mpc one

Hello I make ambient music and wanted to know some things as my mpc one will come this week on order. I like to know if I sample a pad sound on the mpc one will I be able to play chords on keyboard connected to the mpc I own a electron Digitakt and that has chromatic sample mode on it

Are you asking

A) if you can play the pad sample, chromaticaly, via the keyboard

Or

B) Are you asking that if the pad sample is playing, can you chromaticaly play another sample /plugin/key group at the same time

Or

C) If the pad is playing, can you play over the pad, woth the sam sample, but play it chromaticaly?

If it's A, then you can do this. It'll have to be a key group program I believe. You also have the 16 levels option.

B) Yes, you can do that.

C) the way to do this would be to have the sample on one pad playing, and then the same sample on another pad, set in one of the options above.

I may have missed another option, so I'm sure someone will be able to add to this.

Yes you can do this. It actually improves on the Digitakt as you can play the samples polyphonically/chords, and play overlapping notes etc. On the other hand, Digitakt is better at actual sample mangling and modulation, but then lacks the range of effects and stuff that the MPC has.

yes thanks great to hear , the Digitakt is great little unit but lacks the power of the mpc

I have made some ambient music with my MPC Live. These things allow you to have so many layers of effects it's bonkers, so you can have delays with verbs with delays with verbs, etc. etc. You can use reverb to entirely obscure any signal into a smokey ambient wash. I encourage you to go overboard with effects just to see the possibilities that no other devices can do!

AIR is to my taste the best part of the AKAI products - not exactly "naturally", but a lot of fun!
