Help: when pressing the shift button my MPC live stops

Hi, long time lurker here but this time I really can't find any answers. I hope i'm just overlooking things and this is a stupid user error..

So, this is new: I've set up my MPC to receive midi clock via a ERM Multiclock. It works flawless, except since yesterday when I press shift in my project, the sequencing stops. All my synths and drumprograms just stop. It sends a stop command of some sort?! I just opened a new project and it doesn't do it there. I tried to check the midi ins and outs, but unsure what to look for..

Any help? How can I troubleshoot this?

Allright, double post for future reference because I just fixed it. I unplugged all midi things in and started re-evaluating. In the midi monitor I saw a message about the song position pointer, this popped up when pressing shift. The ERM multiclock is the master and midi out goes into midi in 1 on the mpc. When going into the midi settings, I had master, control and track activated on midi input 1/mpc. After disabling control, pressing shift won't stop the sequencing of the MPC.

Why this happend I still have no idea, any suggestions?

User error? Seriously though, great you seemed to have fixed your issue. I've never had the shift button send stop commands though. No clue how that ended up. Have you done a system preferences reset after upgrading your firmware?

Happy it's fixed. I always try to really find it out because when it happens during a performance/soundcheck.. you want to know what to squash. I saw it triggered some sort of midi message that corresponded or came from the ERM Multiclock: F2 49 00 this moved the playmarker.

Its fixed now but do you still recommend doing a reset? I didn't know about it till you just mentioned it. What will it erase? All the preferences only?
