MPC Software on M1 Mac?

Akai still has to fix the Black MPC Studio. It was suppose to be updated for M1 Macs, and Big Sur. It works on intel Big Sur but the driver does not work on the M1 Mac.

This was stated to work on M1’s in the latest release notes. I sent many requests to get it fixed , never heard back from akai.

Well Pro16 was a C64 sequencer so I would hope no one would expect it to run on a Windows or even DOS machine..

Well they have to provide M1 support at some point as Macs are popular with musicians and Apple will be moving exclusively to ARM.

It’s just a matter of when.

When i see the small annoying bug that the slowly add without fixing those on mpc studio VS MPC Software 2.10, i'm really not surprised, but i really suggest that every one shows their disaprobation to akai as they realy don't like bad publicity.

Lol, why on earth "getting rid" the Ren . It still works on a modern x86 PC/laptop
In fact I prefer it over MPC One on desktop
As for Akai ,if they really wanted ,they could either start crowdfunding to work on M1 , or risk some development cost and sell the driver via App Store . Still even if the sales are successful ,Akai looses some profit of the new MPCs sales, since some people won't move to the new line, but Akai will gain reputation

edit: Still Akai must either allow 2.10 to install on older MacOS version or update the REN drivers to the lowest OS version that 2.10 is currently running

They have already provided M1 support for the entire current range of MPCs (One, Live 1&2, X).

Perhaps I missed something (very likely). So all the current MPCs are now compatible with Apple M1 based macs including in controller mode?

The current statement on AkaiPro is that the MPCs are not compatible with the new Apple silicon. Only use them on Intel based Macs.

MPC 2.10 release notes state M1 compatibility across the board for all current models.

I know everyone is tired of me saying but the Studio Black does not work on the M1 even though Akai says it does.

The 'in testing' status has been the same since that article was first published, here's Google's current cache for that page when it was previously last updated (8th December) and all those MPCs were also 'in testing'.

I can't actually see what has been updated in that article, but it's not the MPC Studio/Ren information. Don't hold your breath on this.

I was able to test an MacBookPro 16 M1Pro 16/16/1Tb with osx Monterey 12.0.1 with my MPC Live I, with an internal SSD and a SD card, as well as an USB card installed.
I've had to reinstall the Akai drivers from the installer but I was, with firmware 2.10.1 on both the MPC and the MPC desktop app, then able, to:
- mount all my drives on the desktop when in Controller mode
- was able to work remotely with the Desktop software and use the MPC as a controller

I'm not an Ableton user so I haven't tried my MPC with it. I know there's a beta of Ableton 11.1 though optimized for the M1.

The Ren's been "in testing" for months now, ever since the release of Big Sur while Apple is already two Mac OS releases ahead… Something's wrong. I'm afraid Akai drops the support on the Ren sooner than expected.
