Roland TR-08 Midi mapping on MPCX

Hi all!

Hope everyone is well..

I just recieved a TR-08 Boutique, and I'm having trouble mapping the sounds from the TR-08 to the pads on the MPCX.
There apparently is a way to map the TR-08 via a third party app, but I was hoping one of you lovelies had an easier route to fix my issue.

Go to MAIN > Program row pencil icon > Edit Note map and you can re-map the midi notes on the current program. For example, pad A1 = 36 (kick), pad A2 = 40 (snare), pad A3 = 42 (closed hat), pad A4 = 46 (open hat) etc. Save it as your TR-08 template.

Hello, and thank you so much for your help.
Unfortunately, I’m still stuck!
I tried to map my chosen pads to the TR-08, but whatever note map I select, I always hear a mid Tom on the first pad - the A01 I believe.
Is there a specific mode the TR needs to be in to allow midi change values, as I cannot figure this on out.

I also purchased a Behringer RD9 and that was a doddle to remap, but I’m a bit worried about the TR.

..maybe we’ve overlooked something?

I had a similar Issue! Turn off pad Performance and create your midi program. Somehow Pad Performance gets in the way of mapping out a Midi Programm!

Well that's the fundamental purpose of pad perform, to dynamically rearrange the notes assigned to each pad, it's always going to temporarily override any underlying midi note assignments that the current program.

So yes, do make sure pad perform is turned off, or if it's a drum program, turn off 16 levels.

Still having issues..

I’m mapping to Chromatic1, and each time I save and then go back to the main project page, some sounds are missing, and others play on 2 consecutive pads.

Can anyone help please..
