Midi note range

I recently got an MPC live 2 which I’m using as a multi timbral sound source for my live keys rig. Is there any way of setting the midi note range of each sound or track (a sampled which will have a key group, Hype etc) so I can map them on the midi keyboard.

For example, let’s say I’ve got a 61 note midi keyboards, I want to set a moog bass sound up to middle C, a pad from hype above that and a sound effect sample assigned to the top C.

The auto sample feature is brilliant and I can see this becoming the brain for my live rig, provided I can map everything on the external midi keyboards.

No, you can't do what you want as of OS 2.10.

Obviously you can define keyzones with different samples inside a single keygroup program, but you can't split by key range 2 different plugin programs for instance on the same MIDI channel AFAIK. Your only option right now is to buy an external device/MIDI keyboard that can split on 2 midi channels or use keygroup programs with different samples at different keyranges within a single pre-configured program.

Another limitation that AKAI has yet to fix.

OK thanks that's a nice and clear answer, like you said we'll just need to use keyboards on which you can program zone. It would be a great feature if Akai could implement this in a future update.
