Really hoping someone can help me with this, it's hard to find troubleshooting on something so specific.
So I run my MPC One in controller mode and run the MPC 2.0 software on my PC. I use Akai Pro MPC One ASIO as my audio device, buffer size 256 sample rate 44100 Hz. No problems here.
I also have Ableton. I run Ableton separately, and use a IAC driver (LoopMidi) to send midi data from my MPC to Ableton if I want. This way I have access to all of Ableton's sounds and instruments, whilst keeping the workflow in my MPC. I also have the audio device set to Akai Pro MPC One ASIO here so that I can hear the sounds from both DAWs in the same place. Ableton does not allow me to change the buffer size or sample rate, it stays at the values listed above.
The problem is that as soon as I send Midi from the MPC to any Ableton instrument, it causes a terrible crackle/distortion sound. There is no buildup to this happening, and if I solo the tracks on the MPC, not any one of them is distorted, it's only happening when playing multiple sounds. For example, on my MPC, I have two sample based tracks and a drum track. I go to add a synth layer from Ableton and it causes that crackle sound when all played together. If I solo that synth track, it sounds fine. It is not affecting the quality of any mixdown, so if I go to move everything to Ableton for final production, there is no problem. However, I have to put up with that crackle sound the entire time I am composing structure in the MPC which is clearly not ideal. I am aware that I can run the MPC as a vst in Ableton, but it drastically changes the workflow and I am not fond of it. I have made sure all my drivers are updated and I have tried playing around with the buffer size on the MPC. If it is relevant, I plug my headphones directly into my MPC One. Not sure what I am missing here, it does not makes sense to me. Any help is greatly appreciated, I am so close to having my workflow setup how I want!
