Triggering Midi Sequences and Muting Them

Hello,
I am a relatively new MPC user: using the MPC One.
I am enjoying it very much. I purchased it to do live Midi sequencing. I've noticed a function that I'm having some trouble with.
Goal: trigger midi sequences live while improvising. Say, the "chorus" of a song may consist of a 4 bar piano progression and a 4 bar bassline.
Currently: I may try to use the track mute "page" and mute and unmute the appropriate tracks
Problem: it seems that when I unmute, the "Chorus" is already underway. So, depending on when I unmute and mute, I may start hearing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th bar of the part.
I was expecting behavior more like Ableton live: when unmuting, the part starts at the first bar of the "part".

I hope my question is making some sense.

I don't think Ableton behaves like that.
What you describe is launching or stopping a clip , not mute/unmute
The Mpc has clip program but it's for audio only

I’m not 100% sure how you are doing it, but if you are programming everything in 1 sequence, then muting and unmuting the different parts of the arrangement there are 2 things that can help.

1. Turn on TC (time correct) in the Mute Screen (at bottom). Then check the Time Division and set it to 1 bar, or whatever applies. Think of this like Ableton’s “Launch Quantize”.

2. Try turning instant track mute off. It is in the preferences (I forget where). This may or may not affect your application, but when I do something like what I believe you are doing, I’ll have 2 or 3 midi tracks all sending to the same synth, then I mute or unmute the track to hear different variations of a part. “Instant Mute” seems to continue to send note-off midi on the tracks that are muted which can cause some issues.

Thanks all. Sorry for the double posting: it was my first and didn't see my initial post. It seems like the function I'm after is not available on the MPC One but is how the Force works. I'm unsure if this is important enough to warrant switching. I wonder if this is a function that Akai would be interested in introducing to the Akai One and related samplers as it seems like a fairly basic idea. I can see how the current mute function makes sense as well.
