No matter what I can't connect the MPC-X in controller mode

So here's the deal, I used to run an MPC LIVE MK1 totally fine with MacbookPro and more recently upgraded to MBP M1 MAX, seemed fine. I then bought an MPC-X and the first thing I noticed is just no connectivity, I can see it's connected in the "about this Mac" under "System Report" - I can actually see MPC-X under USB 3.0 BUS so it is definitely talking to the Mac but no matter how many times I re-install the latest driver or the 2.11.3.5 OS it still won't jump into "Controller Mode"...

Anybody might have a solution to this? thx

Try a different usb cable. make sure the cable is indeed a usb 3.0 cable. they have some printing or indenting on them.
