Hey All,

There is something wrong with my MPC Key 61's Sample Edit Mode. I put a sample in and attempt to match the tempo of the sample to the tempo of my sequence and no matter which tempo my song is in the Sample edit mode thinks my song is in 20 BPM. When I try to use the time stretch function under "process" it shows my tempo as 20bpm as well as when I use the "from bpm" tool its locked in and greyed out as 20bpm.

Also when I try to change the tempo of the sample by moving the BPM dial under Sample Edit Mode, the tempo of the sample doesn't change. As well as when I try to use the X2 and /2 functions to half or double the samples tempo nothing happens.

I tried reseting the preferences and updating the software. I went through all the instructions in the user manual to time stretch and everything they say or show doesn't won't on my MPC key 61.

Really frustrated and stumped by this and starting to think this MPC is defective.

Anyone know what is wrong with this thing?

There's 2 things.

SAMPLE EDIT for that sample. 20bmp is default it seems. Not a problem.

PROGRAM EDIT for that sample. Highlight bmp sync & highlight warp, program edit bpm will match/follow whatever bpm is in SAMPLE EDIT. Sample edit bpm is NOT part of a program, it will not change when you change program edit bpm. This is normal.

Program edit bpm follows -> Sample Edit bpm when sync'd.
Sample Edit will NOT follow program edit bpm. It's not supposed to.

Ahhh Brilliant! Thanks man!

Didn't see this until now and was on tech support with Akai, wish they could have told me that. Just need to find out why samples keep defaulting to 20bpm. The music tempo that zombies listen to for motivation.
