MPC Keys 61 on firmware 2.11.6 stand-alone mode
So I just got a novation launch control Xl and really looking forward to better performance control on my mpc. It was working great using midi control learning feature to map master volume then master compression threshold... Then trying to map EQ low cut for bass control... It worked but as I began using it the keyboard lights start going and it looked like it reset internally then kept doing this until I came out of the EQ fx insert menu.. Tried different cc same thing... I wonder now how things are gonna go when I'm hours into this setup. Also too bad there is no way to save midi control mapping to load in existing projects. I read it will only save upon project save.. So I have to make a template and always start with it.

There is a litany of bugs regarding MIDI mapping, search the forum, I'm too lazy to do that anymore.

And yes, you need to make a template because there is no official way to save global MIDI mappings on the MPC, emphasis on official. The Force can do that without a hack. The MPC standalone can't. I particularly dislike the fact that the MPC Software CAN have global mappings for controls or pads but it's not directly possible on the device itself.

Thanks for the answer!
