Filmstrips fill up az01-internal

So back in the summer I noticed one of my internal partitions being filled with trash called "filmstrip####.img" I have no clue what they are. Long story short I managed to subdue the happening by removing the folder the files were being sent to and then "touch"-ing the foldername so as to replace it with a file (then it cant write).

I wonder if this is a biproduct of something I did to my own mpc, or if it's something even stock firmwares do, It would explain why alot of people have weird low disk space problems. It's essentially crowding the "var" overlay rather than properly directing the shit to a tempfs.

For those of you with ssh, you can do this to check.

df -Th |grep /media/az01-internal

or

df -Th

It will tell you how much space the disk has and how much is used.

Wouldn't mind if someone else had a looksie for me to see if theirs is also being filled.

The directory of interest is something like

/media/az01-internal/system/overlay/var/tmp/filmstrips

or some chit.. snoop around.

Just try it on my live 1.


in the directory /overlay/ tmp/ filmstrips you indicated, there are 17 inequally big files that have been created right at the startup time !, total is 44 Mb in these 17 files.

Something like this /media/az01-internal/system/var/overlay/tmp/filmstrips/temp_1746c32f8cc9ee04.img.

Did shut down and restart, same number of files, created on reboot time .

Hey thanks a bunch. so your drice looks pretty healthy and are being cleared on reboot eh?

weird my machine just keeps spamming them as time goes on. it's not cleaning them up. there's nothing wrong with my overlays ive not modified anything in that respect. very odd.
