Studiologic SL series

Hi,

Any Studiologic SL masterkeyboard here ?

I am interested in buying one, and I would like to know if split functions are working fine with a modern MPC.

I got rid of midi cables a long time ago, so all my gears are connected to my MPC One using a 13 ports USB hub.

So any device with input capabilities can be used to play any other (all ports), and I can select a specific keyboard as midi input port if I want.

But how does it work with SL splitted keyboard connected on USB, if it works ?

Do you see several midi inputs, depending on the number of split zones ? Or is it just depending on midi channel, where you have to match zone midi channel and output device midi channel by remembering who is who ?

I have never used this instrument, but think it through. MIDI channels wete designed specifically for this: to send instructions to multiple instruments through a single cord. To present each zone as a separate virtual USB would add an unnecessary level of complication to the system.

I can't see any reason to think that this, or any other controller, would not work perfectly well with the MPC. My two main instruments (Nord G2X and Hydrasynth Deluxe) both send on multiple channels and work just fine with the MPC Live.
