Hi,

I went to sample edit, there is a loop start. but NO loop end ?

how do you sustain the middle part of a sample until a pad is released ?

press pad [----sample start---] [--------sample middle looping until------] release pad [-----sample end----]

thanks

This has always been a Hot Button Issue with these Joints.

My best advice is to somewhat sustain the Middle (depending on the Sample) is to Disengage Loop Lock in Sample Edit. Set The Loop Start, and Pull the End Point to where you want the "Loop End" would be.
Then In Program Edit, set the Pad to "Note On". Then you can play with the Loop Start. Then You can set the Envelope Release accordingly to how long you want it to ring out.

Its not the Traditional way you Illustrated, but its closest you can get ....Unless someone else knows how to do it differently

press pad [----sample start---] [--------sample middle looping until------] release pad [-----loop start to the adjusted end----] **(not the Sample End)**

basically you fake the original tail of the sample with the release portion of the AMP envelope... not the best solution, but it works. i think this is an area that needs improvement, given that there are no full blown akai samplers other than mpc's in the market... the mpc needs to step up the keygroup programs to the s-series level at least. maybe we'll see that...

There are things in the keygroup xml format that don't do anything. Like sustain loop fine tune, which is needed to get a short loop exactly to the same pitch as the stuff before it.

Yea....Akai concentrating on developing Sampling Enhancements will not increase their revenue...unfortunately. Overfeeding us with Pre-Made Samples generates more Revenue. So from a Profit Point Of View, spending a little overhead on an Orchestral Expansion/Plug-in instrument (for example), We all would Empty out our Bank Accounts for that. I know I would

They Don't want us to Sound Design with Enhanced Sample Capabilities, for free!
They want to pay a Company to Sound Design an Enhanced Plug-In, for a Return on their Investment!

I may be overthinkin it tho

What s-series keygroup features would you like them to add?

at the very least a good sustain loop feature, with proper independent loop start and end. more options for envelope retriggering. more accurate glide\portamento features. global automation of filter cutoff and q for all keygroups at once (yes, you can fake it with a filter effect afterwards, its just not the same thing, the internal filter is part of the "instrument"). free running lfo.

I wish we had the Hydrasynth synth engine feature like 5 LFOs that can set as a one shot so it becomes an envelope & 5 envelopes that can be looped so it becomes LFOs. Also, the its more straightforward mod matrix & oscilloscope so we can see the wave change as we make edits.

‘Consumer’ is far better than ‘ pirate’.
