not sure if I'm 100% correct, but it may depend on where you have to (standalone) Plugin Located. If you have the Plugin Folder on a SD Card, it may depend on whats on the SD and the Size/speed of the Card. Versus the Plugin Folder located on an Internal SSD Drive or something? It may load a lot faster

I have an X not Xse but it definitely doesn't do that.
The drum synth patches load really quick and are instantly available.
How long have you had the unit and did it always do that or did it just start?

My content is installed on a internal 1TB Samsung SSD that I installed.
Also neither the LIVE or ONE freezes up like that when loading.
The LIVE is from a 120GB PNY SSD and the ONE is from a 256GB ScanDisk SD card.

I posted about this exact issue with the MPC Live when using Flavor Pro a few weeks back. Take the following as my opinion:

Akai refuses to acknowledge the issue, and it didn't start doing this until a few firmware revisions ago. It likely has VERY little to do with how it's loaded or where it's loaded from, and everything to do with Akai's code salad throwing up all over itself on different hardware builds. What those hardware differences are exactly, I'm not sure, but there are enough reports of shit going south (with proof) to warrant a deeper look into it.

However, it *is* clear to me why they got rid of the loading progress bar. It's a tell that they are definitely aware, but so deep in the hole they would either have to start from scratch with their code to fix it or issue a faulty product recall to figure out exactly what's happening.

My advice would be to swap it out with a different unit if you can.

Not sure about the SE version...But I installed my Extra Plugins on my SSD that I installed. Installing it on the Internal Stock Drive, may slow everything down? I know they've increased the RAM, but I personally don't think the MPC can handle All the Plugins, run the normal duties, efficiently without some lagging.
My suggestion would be to purchase an SSD Drive, SD Card, or USB Stick to place the Plugins on. BUT you said you have an SE? It should be able to handle it.....IDK....I'm Confusing myself :lol:

Were you having problems before & did moving the files to the SSD make an improvement?

All of my MPCs had a Lagging effect many many many updates ago. So I experimented by NOT putting ANYTHING Else on the Internal Drive. And I've never experienced that problem again. I treat the Internal Drive as if it was designed to just run the OS, and the few gigs of sounds it has on it. All of my Additional Plugins/Expansions are on SSD and the SD Card I have inserted

Akai says to them on the SSD for Live/X/Force & the SD for the One for best results. So you did the right thing like Spike Lee.

Same.

Only default shit is on internal.

ALL extra’s get placed on ssd, usb, sd.
