That depends on the product. Assuming you are talking about the MPC software, I think Akai gives you 2 or 3 activations. You can activate it on as many computers (or dongles) as you have activations. Unless you bought a product that specifically tells you it needs an iLok Dongle or the Cloud Service, it can all be done on your desktop.

I just moved all of mine over to an iLok last month when I got my new M2 Mac, and after moving my activated licenses to USB, I can still use the remaining activations for my computer if I want to. I dont know why but the stupid Softube installer always activates one on your desktop AND your dongle if you have one, at least it does to me every time I update or install something new.

Happen to go through this last week when selling off my MPC One. For software licenses you can make a ticket on the Inmusic customer support webpage requesting to transfer the license to the new owner. More details on the site. When selling hardware you don’t have to do anything at all, the new owner simply has to register the product and will receive access to all the included licenses and content.

So no ilok required.
