unfortunately the MPC live mk2 has a "soft" power switch. Meaning it's a push button that is tied to a small daughter board, which senses the button press, and tells the mpc to turn on.
A "hard" power switch would be a switch that physically disconnects power by interrupting the path of electricity.
because its a soft power switch, there could be a number of problems. There could be gunk that got into the mpc case and is shorting out the contacts, it could be the push button is faulty, a soldering joint could have come loose, or the daughter board could have gone bad. Any of these could give a false signal to the MPC to turn on.
Because of this it could be really hard to diagnose/fix yourself, unless you're relatively handy and brave with a soldering iron.
Maybe try reflashing/updating the OS. If you have a warranty, send it back to get fixed. If not, maybe try finding a place that fixes MPC's.
Good luck
