MPClive 2 + guitar, guitar makes crackling sounds

Not sure why but the guitar plugged into input one makes a crackling sound anytime i play into audio... it doesn't do this plugged into my mixer or amp... i have guitar going into pedals into mpclive 2 input 1.

If anyone has any information how to fix this.. or what could be making this happen plz let me know thank you

Are you clipping or heavily overdriving the signal?

No shopping, or overdrive. I do have my guitar going into 12 pedals into the MPClive 2 tho.

Check to see if there is noise even when connected to Input 2. If so, there may be a problem with the input level. If not, try using contact cleaner on input 1.

A cheap DI would be handy

Hey, don't want to start a new thread so i will ask here - someone tried to plug in guitar/bass directly into the inputs of mpc? i know that it will work, but concerned about sound quality, or is it better to use some external preamp?

The MPC doesn't have a pre-amp on the line in... so you really want a device that can change from the instrument level and impedance to line level and impedance.

Yeah, i thought so. i'm gonna borrow preamp stompbox from someone and try.

Are you sure you're not plugged it into the phono input?
