Hi

I,m using the audio tracks quite a bit in my songs. I was just wondering where to the wav files get saved? As I haven't seen any option to save them to my SD card.
I don't want to overload my MPC internal memory and so far, I haven't found the way to save them to the SD card directly. :hmmm:

I know how to save samples to the SD cardusing the sampler, but I cannot use the sampler in this instance as I'm recording external synths and I need the song to play for live jamming and such...

I have a MPC ONE.
THX in advance!

Did you read the manual?

When you save the project the sample gets saved with it. Samples can be found in the folder with the brackets [project].

Your can also out you your audio tracks samples in a Drum program & save that by its self where ever you want & load it into any project later.

You can also save individual samples to wherever you want. Just don't save to the internal Akai drive.

Read the manual & or watch YouTube demos for more info.

Well I din't read the AKAI manual, but I red and printed the MPC Bible. Like I said, I know not to save on the internal drive as well as saving when using the sampler which is pretty easy... When in the audio track menu, I haven't seen a way to save to a specific location...

So when I save a project on my SD card, the audio tracks wav files get saved at the same place?

An audio track is just a different way to play samples. When you record an audio track, you're recording a sample.

Save the project once, then delete or purge unused audio files from the audio tracks. Afterward, save the project again. The purged audio files should remain in the project folder.

If you are wanting to record a bunch of audio performances purely for storing on your disk for recall at a later date (rather than having them all hanging around in project memory) then there's no immediate option to 'save to disk' like you get when using the sampler.

However, after recording you can go to MENU > PROJECT where you'll see the audio track appear in the list of samples on the right hand side of the screen. Single tap and select 'SAVE' to save the audio to your preferred disk location. You can then select DELETE to remove it from memory.

BTW, the sample stored in memory is the 'raw' audio as recorded. If you've subsequently added some edits specifically within the audio track screen and wish to save these changes (e.g. creating and adjusting regions in MAIN > EDIT AUDIO, adding FX), then you'll need to bounce the entire audio track via MENU > SAVE > Audio Mixdown and select 'explode tracks' or 'separate programs'. Then you can delete the raw samples if you wish (or delete the related audio programs and hit purge).

Ok thank you very much for this clear answer!

So basically the audio tracks are saved in the project memory. If I save my projet on the SD drive, it has the audio tracks with it but I can't access them from another project. If I want to access them later on I have to follow what you said to save them ''properly''.

Thx again I hope my understanding is right!

To access audio files in other projects from the current project, do the following:

1. Uncheck the "Hide project data folders" option in the browser's gear icon option.

2. You will find the audio files in the 'YourProjectName_[ProjectData]' folder on the same level as the project (xpj)

Therefore, there is no need to save audio files individually.
