Hello there,
I've just bought myself a second hand MPC One and I'm very happy with it. Except, now that I've finished my first track and wanted to use MPC One in controller mode with Ableton; I started to run into awful crashes.
I'm using a Mac mini M1 (14.0 Sonoma).
MPC wise : 2.12.2 with a sandisk SD card (128gb) formatted to exFAT.

The only thing I had success doing in controller mode at first was putting samples in SD card (it crashed only once, but then lasted to the end of copy).

When I tried to play my project in MPC Software, I noticed that the crashes occurs right after the SD Card is mounted. So I first thought of using the internal drive, which you know is not the way to go.

I then tried something else that solved the issue, but this is really annoying...

I copied the project file + data folder in my computer, removed SD Card, booted MPC in controller mode, loaded the project from my computer and everything worked fine. I had no crashes or whatever.

But this way of working is kind of annoying...
Have any of you ran into this kind of problems? Is It a known issue or I'm having a faulty device?
Thanks in advance and have a nice one !

Sonoma is not officially supported yet so it might be prone to issues like this. More info:

There's a little smiley face icon at the bottom right of the MPC Software UI, you can use that to report bugs like this directly to Akai. although don't expect any response, I'm not aware of anyone ever getting a message back. You could also report this via their support ticketing system.

Yes it happened to me routinely (One+) with 3 different units.

Solution:
Returned that shit.
I did find that as long as you don’t have storage hooked up directly to the mpc in controller mode it worked. So…. Don’t connect anything to the mpc and you should be fine.

Yup. but again , what's the point ? Producing in standalone + recording works fine. But as a producer, this is not the best workflow to get precision and to finish tracks. I tried working in controller mode to have just the drums. Using the plugin you can't send midi. I turned to MPC Software + Ableton link to sync , but without SD card, this is useless. I'd rather use Ableton only ... I'v had success with the SD card in after fixing errors using Aid utility in Mac OS, but link is a bit buggy. If midi configuration can't solve this mess, then this machine is good to be sold.

I really don’t understand how people use the One in controller mode. Unless they are just saving and loading projects from their computer. And how the hell Akai gets away with this is a mystery too.

Theres no need or real use for the mpc in controller mode hooked to the pc software. Is it easier to fiddle with all that extra shit than to just use a mouse or keyboard? tbh the whole design of the stand alone mpcs having this "controller mode" is redundant, its another layer of hardware thats in no way a requirement or real aid.
