The USB b port on my live is broken and I wanted to replace it. I have the replacement port but I wanted to be able to know if there was anything in particular I needed to be on the look out for before I dived in.

I’ve done work on my XL before but I know that the doesn’t mean it will translate.

Also my headphone jack has a short and was thinking about replacing it too but I can’t find anything to confirm what the right jack is.

Anybody know?

Hi,

I haven't got the Live, I have an X.
The USB B port on the X is easily accessible for replacement. I suspect the Live will be also but in terms of opening them up it is done with the usual caveats. Take care, take your time, photograph everything before you disconnect. Watch yiutube rear down vids, those will help you a lot. MPC Stuff might have acreen replacement vids or thick oad replacement vids etc.

The main danger area seems to be putting back the LCD screen connectors - if you out the ribbon on backwards you can fry your screen or damage your main board. Photograph the orientation of the ribbon before disconnecting.

With respect to the headphone socket please note that without a jack plug inserted it will measure "short" - test for a short with the jack inserted and see if still short. If still short check nothing is stuck inside the socket.

I appreciate this thread is a few month's old, mostly replying for the benefit of others in the same boat.

Hope you got / get sorted.
