I monitored MPC's MIDI-out with MIDI OX and it was sending that locate message. (F0 7F 00 06 44 06 01 00 00 00 00 F7)

When I sent that message back to MPC, the song position moved to the beginning.

Turned out to work quite well. When the FC-300 is in patch mode , I can have the control switches send a basic MIDI message from the standard list, but also have them send simultaneous separate messages when switched on, and another when switched off. The on and off messages can be basic MIDI or SysEx messages of any kind. So I've got MMC locate and MMC stop on the same footswitch right now. That's good enough for me!

Ahhhh I see. Well thanks, you helped a lot because I acheived the functionality I desired, and finally learned how to program SysEx messages into my FC-300 in the process. I kept looking in the SysEx part of the manual when it turned out the info I needed was in the patch mode section, which I discovered by searching "mmc locate" in the PDF. (Just got this thing a couple weeks ago) so thanks again!

Hey fellow MPC users. I am also trying to send transport control messages to my MPC from the FC-300. I have got stuck at the same place. not able to start from beginning, just pausing the sequence at the stop point and the play button just unpauses. It appears you were able to use SysEx to find a work around by programming a third pedal, please help me figure that out if you could. i'm going to be diving into try and figure that out myself but thought id message here and see if i can't get a little assistance, thanks in advance.

I ive tried sending a locate message (F0 7F 00 06 44 06 01 00 00 00 00 F7) In patch mode to Ctrl switches with both on and off , momentary and latch, the only thing I could get it to do is, with that particular message is the play head on the MPC moves really quick through my 8 bar sequences like it was 1 bar. But no midi notes are played in the sequence. I’m wondering if the latest update has changed the transport control messages. But this thread has given me hope that it is possible to start play from the FC-300. I need to learn how to use Midi-ox. Is it something I can run on Mac?

I don't think FC300 supports the MMC locate command, but in the manual it seems that the locate command is in the sysex template.

Cool. I misread this at first but I figured it out. Yeah I set this locate command, from the sysex template, to one of my footswitches, and it does indeed bring it back to 0. Thanks!

Hey, any chance you could explain how you were able to use a SYSEX message in patch mode to play start the sequence? I’ve tried, all it does for me when I send that locate message stated here is send the play head flying 4 times faster then the sequence should be and no midi notes play. I’d appreciate any advice, Thanks.
