See what I did there? When someone gave you a hard time in a post of yours you got all sideways with them but then you turn around and do it to others.

Easy there... perhaps the reply was snarky, but I'll be honest, it didn't feel to me like it was outright mean or hateful.

I edited a single 5+ minute sample the other day. I worked in CHOP and just pressed the '+' icon to add a slice start point wherever I placed the cursor point. I didn't select the chops via the pads at all. I don't remember the end point going to the end of the sample all the time, maybe it did but I didn't realise. In any event, if it did, a quick double finger pinch on the screen soon zoomed out the entire waveform enough for me to see the end marker then drag it back to roughly where I wanted it, fine adjusting with the Q links. I pulled about 3 banks of samples (48) in this manner and don't remember getting frustrated with the work flow. In other words, I'm pretty sure I know what problem you are describing, but in reality it doesn't seem to add much more time except that needed to pinch the screen down, move the end point and then pinch back up which IMO is pretty quick. How long are the samples you are working with?

Edit: sorry just seen you are working with a 10 minute sample. Yeah so a bit more pinching required I guess.

well, to be fair.. this is the crux of the OP's problem anyways. they just need to slow down, take a deep breath... and chop the 10 minute sample into like 5 2-minute samples.

then it will be much easier to extract whatever they want out of the sections instead of trying to do it all from the base super-long sample.

Though I can understand your frustrated it is in the name. You use chop to chop the sample up in different pieces and use trim to adjust the start and end points of a single sample. Now I didn’t mean to be hostile but I like to move people to think for themself.

The remark you took out of context was aimed to some one basically calling me a tool. I can’t remember if it was you or somebody else.

Yeah I took it as a slick joke. I still remember you answering one of my questions like that about why the Shift button kept stopping the playback.

Anyway, I tried to DM you, but maybe I did it wrong. But you were suppose to send the Recovery File for the Force Months ago. I don't need it right now so it's no rush.
Thanks :worthy:

When working with large samples, eg a full song, I usually start in Trim. Use Start and End markers to get a rough section I want to take a bit from (bit extra each side, maybe multiple versions of a loop I may select one later), export as a new sample, repeat this process through the song. Then I go to the new samples, in Trim accurately set the Start and End and trim to final sample. Then if it's a loop I'll probably then go into Chop to make some Slices (or quite often do this in the Program, rather than on the sample, but that's just a matter of choice.)

The Q links are your friends for this! It's rather clunky on my Live 2 but I imagine if I had the 16 knobs so could access Start, End and Zoom without changing pages it would almost be as quick and comfortable as on a computer...

It also doesn’t help that start/end are on diff q-link banks.
X is not a problem (love it!), but Key61, has one row, annoying, doable, annoying.

I mentioned that exact point earlier and how it wouldn't affect the OP so much as they said they're using an X. Think it's weird the Keys61 didn't come with all 16 Q-Links!

I think so too. It’s the only thing stopping me from REALLY enjoying Key61 to the maximum so far, everything else about it is great.
