Noise when recording from audio interface

Hello! So basically i have just bought an MPC one+ and I am trying to sample into it in the following way: my synths are connected into the apollo x6 and then 2 outputs are routed to the inputs of the MPC. The problem is a hissing sound that makes the recording almost unusable. The sound disappears if i turn the MPC input gain down. I have changed the cables and the outputs but the problem persists. Has anybody else experienced something similar?

That would be my guess. Even if all plugs are grounded, you can have ground problems if you’re using equipment plugged into different household circuits. Three phase power coming into the building is divided up into two phase at your fuse block. You can have power from more than one phase in the same room and any offset can produce a ground voltage offset.

I place all interconnected AV and studio equipment on the same phase to eliminate problems like this.

The weird thing is that if i exit the sampler and enter another screen on the mpc( for example preferences) the noise goes away and the instrument plays normally. Could this still be a grouding issue? All my equipment is plugged into the same outlet.

Hi, Further culprits could be damaged TRS cables, sockets, jacks, plugs.

A different idea:
I don't know your setup in detail but I would try to record the synths into the MPC without the Apollo interface.
Is there still that noise?

No, if i plug the synth straight in, the noise is much much lower.

Are the synths connected with USB cables or midi. If USB, does the hissing stop when you disconnect these cables.

the synth is connected just as audio in

Are you running the power for everything through a power conditioner? Highly recommended.
Could be some sort of ground loop issue potentially.

No phantom power anywhere. I will try today with a different instrument and just only the mpc plugged in
