Rationale for MIDI "enable mapping" not being saved

Hi All, I guess this is not a bug but a feature. I have noticed that the MIDI CONTROL > ENABLE MAPPING setting is not saved alongside projects. Is there a rationale for that? I use it a lot for live performance with my MPC X, e.g. mixing, muting / unmuting and to launch effects in Flex Beat Player without having to open it, that is a pain.

My guess is that (at least in my experience) MIDI CONTROL is so buggy that "forgetting" the ENABLE MAPPING setting is a sort of "safe mode", allowing users to delete all MIDI MAPPING settings when they go crazy and crash the MPC.

Should be able to save it in a start template and then you can always call out that template when you want those settings.

and what the rationale that doing a Reset Preferences deletes all 96 of my mappings
