MPC Key 61 x Arturia Microfreak issues

I'm having a really hard time getting the Key 61 to act as a midi controller for my Microfreak. I was able to record live, but don't know how to sample middle c and get the Key 61 to pull the sound out of the Microfreak and turn it into an instrument I can play with the Key 61. So I figured I'm either hooking it up wrong, there's a setting I'm missing, or both. I'm using the Key 61 as the main instrument I just wanted to add some cool sounds from the Microfreak. I have all the midi cables, USB cables, and 1/4 cables I need to hook it up, also would cv be a good option for what I'm trying to do?

You can use usb or din. Makr sure that your freak is set receive midi from both din and usb in the settings on the keyboard. Also another big factor is having the channel correct in the track view screen and then send MMC enabled so it clocks it properly. Also need to enable "sync" beside the midi device in settings > midi. then open an audio track and set that to "in" and bang away on your pads.

Without using MIDI and Auto-sampler, you can play Microfreak's middle C, sample it with MPC's sampler, and assign the sample to a key group.

You told us what you have but nothing about how you connected them up. I prefer using DIN MIDI to connect devices up where possible and routing the audio into the Key 61. From there you can play or auto sample the external synth.
