Hi,
I just bought a mpc one plus. I had a mpc one when it cane out which stopped working after 3 months. I got a refund and bought something else.
Already back then but also now I am very disappointed by the timing - the mpc‘s greatest strength in the past - which is extremely unstable.
I looked at the midiclock on an oscilloscope (lab scope not eurorack data module) and there is tons of jitter. Well I thought then I just send gates to my pams new workout module. Unfortunately when setting 64th gates (equals 16 ppq) and trying to clock the module it start deviating from tempo above 100 bpm. Pams new workout is not sufficiently clockable with this as timingsensitive sounds (e.g. 16th hihats from mpc and eurorack) are not in 100% sync.
Clocking my erica synths black sequencer works ok but also this module shows unstable timing.
I noticed that when sending 16th gates and looping 2 bars now and then the very first gate isn‘t sent. Everything else seems fine.
I also tried using the mpc as slave to the extremely tight midicllck coming from pams new workout which causes the mpc to run a bit behind.
Clocking the black sequencer works ok‘ish and I might try syncing both to ableton link but considering that the mpcs have been used as the main sequencer for live setups in the past I was hoping for more.
I noticed and measured on a mpc one as well as on a one+, direct connections, no other hardware involved.
How do you deal with this problem?
