New One+ user….problems!

Hello all,

New to here, new to MPC and new to groove box samplers in general. Most of my music to date has been via by lifelong dedication to Korg synths and acoustic instruments.

Got my lovely red One+ yesterday, and impressed so far, although a big learning curve for me. However, I have a couple of problems I could use some help with…

1) When the unit powers up it says “Splice Error: Download directory could not be found”

I don’t use Splice, and don’t want to - so I can’t access the splice settings on the unit.

2) I’m trying to download plugin trials and also activate the free Jura plugin, but when I try I get an error message that says : "COULD NOT VALIDATE LICENSE FROM THE SERVER - Licence Status: 8"

I have tried logging out and logging back in, I’ve upgraded the firmware and I’ve tried connecting via WiFi and by using an Ethernet dongle. I’ve tried automatic and manual DNS settings, and I’ve tried fiddling with the date and time settings (currently set to Europe/London).

Any help on either of these two issues would be greatly appreciated.

usb tether your cellphone to the mpc and try again through cell data.

The Splice error is not a problem, if you don’t use it (I don’t), just ignore it or turn off wifi so it won’t try to link up to splice. And the plugin thing is an unfortunate recurring issue with the Akai servers I guess is what people have said several times. The activations were difficult for me as well but I tried on a different day and it worked. Once I got all the stuff I wanted activated and downloaded I turned the WiFi off and haven’t had any problems

Thanks for the replies…..the plugin validation thing sorted itself in the end, and I’m ignoring the splice thing.

Very impressed with the MPC so far - been playing with Jura and love it. Next thing is to midi it with my Nautilus….
