Rearranging Sequence Order Quickly

Is there a quick way to rearrange your sequence order in either standalone or controller mode?

I feel like a real Caveman when I have to copy and delete sequences to rearrange my order.

Nope, copy paste is the only way, same as track re-ordering. If only we had a touchscreen interface to easily drag and reorder stuff... That said, I seem to remember Dan Gill mentioning something about the minefield of patents for many of the common touchscreen gestures and features, it might be related to that.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by rearranging sequence order. If you just mean the order in which separate sequences play, then there's a very easy way to do it. Go into song mode, and re-set them. (Unless you're saying that taking the two extra seconds to move them around in song mode without being able to drag them like a DAW is too burdensome... then, I don't know what to tell you. Seems like a really minor inconvenience.)

If you're talking about reordering the internal bars within a sequence, or something more complex, then that's a different issue.

I assumed he meant the general sequence order within the project, i.e. making seq 5 appear at the seq 1 position etc, as rearranging in song mode is easy enough

Great Topic, I was creating last night early AM and ran into the same quandary and had a brain freeze and forgot about Song Mode and wondered to myself if there was a drag and drop function.

I work with both MPC and Maschine and seem to recall performing this task was more intuitive with Maschine. e.g. Drag and Drop. Don't quote me as I am out and don't have my unit with me but will check when I get back to the Studio.

Admittedly, I do wish Akai had a drag an drop feature where you didn't have to enter a separate navigation mode, but as acknowledged, it truly is not a hill to die upon as the task can be easily facilitated by using the provided Song Mode Function. I do enjoy the exchanges here. Thanks gain all !
