Return Exports: Fubar

I am trying to export a project for external mixing and have discovered that the Returns export is all screwed up. Specifically, if a keygroup or drum track is routed to the same return as an audio track, then ALL of the keygroup/drum export files will contain the audio track return as well.

Also, there are all sorts of duplicate copies of every audio return track, named with the name of the keygroup/drum tracks. I think this may be a manifestation of the same bug that is above.

Workaround will probably be to drop those return files and redo in the DAW.

OG Live, v 2.13. I wonder if there's any point in reporting these types of bugs now, or to wait until the 3.0 beta is public, and slam Akai with them at that point?

Unfortunately I do not use Returns.. I think I may have tried this in the past but also had issues and gave up. That was some time ago though.

the beauty of return tracks is that they are global and available to all tracks, so if you export multitrack it is normal that the return will have the contributions of all tracks you opened the relative send on.
if you want you can do a much slower process where you solo one track and export it and the return tracks it uses, then you redo the process for every single track BUT from a mixing point of view this is not correct because if you use a Reverb on a return track (classic use of send\return is of course for reverbs and delays) you want the reverb to glue up all your reverberated tracks, not to reverberate on track at a time.

That's not how the returns on MIDI tracks work. If I explode my drums, then each drum track gets its own corresponding return file, with no other instruments on it. So it does seem to be unintended behavior. And mixing individually reverbed instruments should sound no different than reverb on the mixed sends; it's a linear process.
