Hi there! Im on an mpc live 2 and I have an odd length sequence that I want to resample. I have sent the midi to another track, and can hear the midi but I cant seem to record the notes into the second midi track. Any idea how to enable this?

You can record the MPC’s MIDI output by connecting its IN and OUT with a MIDI cable. You will need to turn off SEND MMC in the preferences.

Exactly what I do.

All that other stuff is extra.

Has it's uses. For eg.
4 bar drum loop. Each element on its own track from the same program. Duplicate to song length.
Send all the midi to an empty track and hit record. Play track mutes to arrange the drum track on the fly.
You end up with a single track with only unmuted midi recorded. Easy way to lay down the skeleton of a long drum track without a lot of cut / copy and paste.

Used to use this a lot when I was running a 25k and 1k side by side.
One sequenced synths. And the other on sampled drum and sequencing my samplers.

you can copy whole sequences and cut/delete traks in the new sequences to taste
or save/export the original sequence as a MIDI file and re-import in a new sequence

Hi! id be happy to do this! Is there a way to extend a 3 beat/12step pattern out to fill 4 bars?

while copying, set the number of repeats to more than 1 (5 in this case if my math is correct)
