I got a chuckle when I saw this on YouTube today. MPC stuff is selling the battery that most of us bought to power our MPC’s along with 3-D printed legs to make a stand. Any thoughts?

I’d love to get the pattern to print the legs myself.

Never looked at this site before, their prices are crazy.

A screen protector is film guard is 23 dollars, and it's not even gorilla glass. I took my MPC One into a local phone shop and the girl skillfully prepared the screen and fitted and cut a protector for a few dollars. I've tried doing this on my phone and I mess it up (Normally good at this stuff). She seemed really pleased too to be given something different than a phone or laptop.

They sell a sheet of acrylic with holes cut for the knobs, so zero protection there, and the corners have a bigger radius than the MPC, so it looks crap. You could just order a a sheet cut to size for far less that fits better, and a stepped drill bit. I get that you pay extra for someone doing the work, but those corners and it's 59 dollars, compared to the 33.00 quid for a decksavers option, which is polycarbonate, so far more stronger and scratch resistant and 3 dimensionally shaped to actually give full protection, even if you want to shove it in a bag.

OG box for storage / transport ftw. If you think about it, the boxes you bought your gear in are the best you will ever have or at least a box / hard case or the same size and the styrofoam inserts to absorb the shock. Remember these mfs stack em on pallets to the ceiling. all our shit was a giant tower of boxes at one point.

mpc-stuff is another culture vulture... so many of em out there trying to get by on the whole mpc schtick and i guess cus they got replacement parts you cant find else where they are solidified in their position but id rather replace the device or cannibalize two broken units for oem parts.

if you are a retro hardware monger (i am not with music but i am with game consoles) it devalues your devices to modify them.

you know what i tske back my comment about the mods, thats in the eye of the beholder. some people like that stuff.

termites are then worst.. just a box though. a deck saver does seem like a good item to own, i have secretly always wanted one for my mpc and my decks but havent sprung for them yet. Worst part is i keep finding my cat walkin around on my gear like "look at me, look what i am doing, are these knobs and sliders set to things? now they are not." i fear the worst will happen soon.

I really like the idea of the desksaver for gigging, especially as it's the centre of my set up. Both for protection when put in a bag, and to cover when waiting to play, so some idiot doesn't spill their drink when have a look at the set up.

My MPC stands on an angled laptop stand. I've got 5 of the same one (Hydrasynth takes 2) As well as being more ergonomic, it seems to keep the cats off them, although corners and patch cables invites loads of face rubbing.

Decksaver are cool. I put black tape over mines to kill Forces bright as hell boot up screen & to cut the TV reflection when I wasn't using it. The tape also helps to make it look more low-key if your out in public: https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/c ... ver_makes/
