Hello,
I've just got my first MPC One.
I have the strangest problem, and believe me, before I jumped into here I did my due diligence, including RTFM (read the blessed manual), consulted similar topics on this forum, watched a bunch of videos, and followed all the instructions in the Bible.
I am trying to control 2 external synths.
The first one (Moog Mother32) I am controlling via CV with no problems, in spite of it being an instrument notably fiddly when it comes to CV interaction.
The second one (Behringer K2) will not take CV on the V/Oct format, so I'm bound to MIDI. And here I came across two problems:
1) No matter what I due or how I configure the MPC One, I can't get this synth to play any note above G3. The range of this synth is evidently higher than this.
2) No matter what I do, whatever notes I play through my keyboard controller (and I've tried 3 different keyboard controllers) will show as wildly incorrect on the MPC grill. The notes will play alright (so long as they're below G3), and they're the right notes, but the notation on the grill is way wacked off.
I suspect there must be a foolproof, easy enough solution for this, but so far it's ruined my last 3 weeks.

I've seen people with similar problems (not quite the same) and tried the troubleshooting suggested, to no avail.

Help please!

Welcome to MPC world!

Your first problem has to do with the k2, there is simply no way for the MPC to send the wrong MIDI notes.

The second seems impossible, unless you are using a drum program instead of a midi program within the mpc. The pad mapping in the MPC is strange, it doesn't match typical midi drum note assignments.

You can use the midi monitor to view data being sent and received. It's the little IO icon at the top of the menu.

Thank you for your answer.
Yes, for the second problem (grill notes) what you suggest is probably the case, because I have created other projects since, and the midi tracks seem to behave normally.
For the range of the K2, it seems you also maybe right, but I haven´t been able to solve this behavior yet.
Thanks again!
