Vocal Tuner settings

Hi everyone sorry if this is a newbie question but I’ve had a good search including YouTube and still scratching my head!
I use the Live 2 stand alone and can’t for the life of me get that cheesy auto tune sound out of the vocal tuner settings.
For example on FL Studio mobile it has a pitcher auto tune and it works pretty well but on the Live IM getting nowhere
What setting do I need to use please or is there a recommended YouTube tutorial I could watch anyone could hook me up with ?
I just absolutely love the MPC with the built in speaker, to be able to do my vocals on it too would make me feel like the cat who got the cream!

It does work but its not as vibrant as auto-tune and it helps alot of you go into its settings and find the key you're wanting to hear. ive never tried doubling the plugin up but that might give it the aliasing effect you want.

I have to work at brightening it up in the way i sing, and with subsequent effects. eq, delay pro, stereo width.

If you set RETUNE TIME to 1 ms, it's not cheesy enough? Can you post an audio example

If I’m reading it right, you want that cheesy auto-tuned sound. My understanding is that that comes from having to shift vocals pitch a decent amount. Like if you sing monotone and want it to create a melody out of it.

Try singing monotone and editing the audio into chunks then pitch shifting each word to the pitch where you want them.

With auto tune type effects you need to often tell the plug-in the pitch because you’re not “correcting” pitch if a singer who is 20 cents sharp, you are shifting sometimes an octave or splitting a note and making it two pitches. MPCs vocal tuning isn’t exactly the same. That “auto-tune” effects is kind of a misuse of the original plug-in to create something different that is almost more like a vocoder.

The BEST misuse. I am a pretty naisley sounding dude with a twang I sound like a complete jerk trying to rap dry but when i lace it with the vocoder or autotune is magic rofl.

Listening to other artists, you hear them slide their voice between notes too. portamento. It gives it some aliasing that is destinct in autotune.

Fun off topic tidbit, im dabbling with microphone stuff in code atm going to start writing some filters and distortions and stuff. came across something that's actually a pretty dope sounding effect, makes me sound like a highly digized robot. run the play back at a different rate than the mic capture. ends up ringing harsh which is kinda a feature... send that **** into a verb and abuse it.

That’s right Ultros. It’s not a bad misuse of auto tune, just not its original intention. Creative people can make things out of scraps, discards and remnants.

That said, I don’t know if there’s a workaround to get slides with the MPC vocal tuner. Maybe using automation to change the pitch mid syllable? Haven’t tried this myself, just using my best judgement.
