MPC 3 CC automation questions

Ok so I have some questions about MPC 3 standalone CC automation.

Is there no way to mute existing automation?

You can use the select tool to select things like velocity but not CC. Is that correct?

If I have a long sequence, and I write some filter cutoff for the duration of that sequence: if I want to go back and overwrite that filter cutoff for 20 bars in the middle of the sequence, the existing automation keeps being read even though I’m in write mode. How do I get around that? For example, I want to write new filter cutoff information, but the existing automation keeps yoinking the filter away from where I want it to be in write mode.

Is there no way to copy/paste CC automation without those values being “tied” to a note? Like if I only want automation on a track (with another track housing the midi notes) it seems like I can’t copy/paste the automation only. Workaround is adding notes to that track, doing the copy/paste, then deleting those notes.

I’m trying to go DAWless here, but some of the more advanced editing on MPC has me stumped.

I’m not sure if this helps, but pressing Delete (shift + copy on the MPC One) allows you to select a range of bars to delete and you can choose notes or automation or both.

You could clear the automation to don’t want, then wrote new automation in.

The erase screen has the option to only erase automation. Or in grid view expand the automation lane, select the automation you wish to view and erase with the erase tool. Or select view:automation in list edit and delete whatever you want

Holding the Shift button and pressing the Automation button at the top of the screen (not the hardware button) mutes the automation.

Yes, values in the automation lane cannot be selected.

In the List Edit screen, you can select only automation events. (Holding the Shift key allows you to select multiple events.) With the automation events selected, press the hardware COPY button, choose the "Copy Only Selected Events" option, and press the "Merge" button to copy only the automation.
