After converting from 3.0 beta to 3.4 update. When I turn on my MPC X SE before I get to the main screen, it tells me I'm missing plugins and do they want me to allow it to keep looking. I always say yes and everything seems to be working fine. I have a picture of it but don't know how to upload it to this forum.

When I got this message I checked my preferences to ensure my sata drive was selected. I also reset preferences and did it again just to make sure. I haven't had the problem since and everything is working properly. I went from 2.x on Key61 and MPC X to 3.x on both machines.

pref, general, info

Also, on your plugins require a folder named “synth” to live in.
I made a “synth” folder on my sata drive on X and Key61.

In preferences you need to configure mpc to point to that folder. Go thru preferences, every menu, scrolling all the way down, look thru everything.
