Hi folks,
Please forgive this post if it's already appeared here, I have searched the forum before registering and tried my best reaching out to AKAI professional support, but I'm getting nowhere.
I purchased my MPC X SE a little while back and love this machine. I should explain that I am registered blind, I'm using an iphone camera with tools to read the touch screen to help me navigate some of what I need to do, the rest isn't much of a problem. I've owned previously an MPC4000 maxed out which was used, a DPS24 recorder, etc as well as other akai pro hardware.
So, here's what's happened. I accidentally managed to fill the internal memory with the updates, libraries, etc and it started slowing down significantly. I searched for a method of decluttering internal memory with no luck, so decided to perform a factory reset, which does nothing but reset prefs.
I contacted AKAI tech support, which is where the problems started...
I received a support email on sunday morning with links to a page to download firmware, now get this, I was told to DOWNGRADE to V2.15, then after rebooting, restore the contents. This is where things went wrong and bricked the unit but I've recovered it. It's now running v2.15, but boots with an error saying "cannot find download folder location" then OK.
This is the email I received...

First of all, please revert to 2.15 of the Firmware.

You can recover the entire MPC content by using a file and a USB drive or SD card (exFAT format, with a minimum capacity of 16GB). Here are the steps for this process:
Download the .zip file.
Unzip the downloaded file.
Copy the contents onto either a USB stick, or an SD card, and make sure this content is placed in the root directory of the removable device do NOT place the content inside a folder on the removable drive.
Turn on MPC and wait until the Demo selection screen pops up. If the project Dialog box doesn't show up after startup, power off the MPC, insert your SD or USB, and power it back on. The MPC will initiate the import automatically, skipping to step 6 to press "yes" when the popup appears.
Plug in the prepared USB stick or SD card.
A popup will appear asking if you want to download the content. Press “YES”.
The MPC will reboot to a black screen and will start importing the content. DO NOT POWER OFF UNIT.
The unit will reboot after it has completed the import, and the content will be available thereafter as normal.
MPC X SE Factory Content
The installation should initiate automatically. Please refrain from touching or turning off the MPC during this process. The MPC will restart once the installation is complete, and the entire procedure typically takes around 15-20 minutes.

from this, I've received similar repeated emails after I asked for further help and I'm feeling like someone's taking me for a ride.
Notice the instructions have errors...
Download the .zip file.

Someone here is giving incorrect information
so now, I've got an MPC generating a missing download folder, I can't clear the internal memory because it's still reporting near full, it hasn't wiped anything like wifi connections, nothing.
Is there anyone here who could please help me? I'm receiving the same replies delayed by a day from this person at AKAI and I'm stuck.

Someone here is giving incorrect information
