So all of a sudden I’m getting a “unable to save to this drive” error when saving to my internal 500GB SSD. Had it about 2 years never had that happen. Got plenty of GB’s left so that’s not it. It has the little “no writing” symbol next to it in the “Places” tab.

Kinda screwed on backing it all up on another drive at the moment. Could I EJECT the drive and then reconnect it? Don’t wanna make any sudden moves and brick my SSD or erase anything. Any ideas?

Thanks

It could be a problem with the MPC itself, but at this stage would assume it's a failing drive. If it has an eject button in browser > places you can eject it, it should mount again when you next boot. That's assuming it's not so damaged that it refuses to mount. You could try controller mode and see if it mounts in your computer. If so, back up and re-format, but likely only a temporary fix, the drive will almost certainly fail eventually.

Another option is remove the drive, put it in a USB drive enclosure and connect to a computer that way. Main goal at this stage is to back up your data. Then investigate what the issue might be

If it's powered off, you can disconnect the drive from the internals and try using a usb to ssd drive adaptor on your computer. Could help with diagnostics.

If nothing else, if you have disk imaging software (e.g. Active @ Disk Image), you can try to capture a complete hard drive image before it fully takes a crap.
