Mpc 3.6 weird bug

I’ve upgraded to mpc 3.6 (on mpc one+) and opened a project having two audio tracks.

When playing, the two tracks frantically restarted in a kind of ultrashort loop and the visual play button next to “Arranger” went bananas.

I had 10 sequences and these two tracks experienced the same behaviour. (It is for a music quiz, that I will perform next week, so panic)

Downgrading back to 3.5 solved the issue. That’s when I found out that projects saved in 3.6 cannot be opened in 3.5. Be warned.

I had the same issue with almost all my projects made in 2.xx Luckily if you shift the BARS count up or down, it restores the sequence to its original length.

I may report it officially later today.

I tried everything except for this. I lost 2 projects because of saving it in 3.6 and going back to 3.5. I may retry it again, but I'm very anxious now

I tried it and it worked, I saved it and opened the project again and it was the same all over again. Even tried saving it with an extra bar to no avail

You need to back up all your projects before trying to save them to a newer version of the OS. That stuff happens ever time there is an significant update... if it's important back it up.

I have them recovered

Now, the bug. Anyone an idea/workaround that is permanent?

Adding and removing a bar works temporary, but after saving and recalling, the problem reappears.

There's usually an MS Office Forms link added to the Akai Knowledge Base site. I just checked and as of now there's not even a FAQ for 3.6 up yet. :WTF:

I have install the Update to 3.6 and now my samples played at a very high speed. I actually have 150 bpm, but it feels like 300 bpm. When I load a demo pack, it doesnt happen

I found a permanent cure (kind of, you have to do some stuff)

In an audio track, you can specify the length (next to "monitor"). I set it (back) to SEQ, and the problems disappeared (even after save and load). I even reproduced the problem by setting a very short length. So probably the length is somehow corrupt, and after creating the proper length, it resets itself.

Don't use bars though (like adding and removing a bar). This temporary fixes it, but it didn't save it.

On another note, I never played with this length before. Does that mean you can set a different length for every track, to get some interesting results?

Yes & if you have clips each one can be set to a different length even copies with the same name which can get confusing if you rename them.
